Powerpoint Pressure

"We need to commend them on the hard work they put into this presentation."

"Good job guys."

"Well done for your first time."

Earlier in the meeting:

"Did you pull those figures? I'd really like to see them."

"Those numbers can't be right!"

"The minute you get figures like those you should double-check them. You can't come to a presentation and show that."

That last comment (from the head of the company) was the one that put the dagger into our morale. Neither of us felt like speaking after. After that, no amount of commendation felt geniune. Other comments, and seemingly negative facial expressions didn't help. After that, it was just clock-watching for me, dying for time to pass so that the meeting would end. The presentation wasn't that bad... But it sure felt like it.

Sorry to hear. You live and you learn.

Sorry your meeting didn't go so hot. Hope you at least got a decent explanation for where you might have gone off course.

We know why it went wrong. Most of it wasn't our fault, but that's a different story. Reality is we weren't prepared to present, but we were forced to anyway. Life goes on, I don't sulk about it.
