Emptiness

My mind's a mess, and I'm not sure why
Tears painfully near, though they never seem to break free
Confused, mystified, somber
I can't seem to fight the feeling
Though I'm not sure why it's happening
Maybe it's what I'm doing
Or maybe what I'm not doing
Maybe you've upset me
By not doing what I want you to do-
To be near me
Or maybe that need for closeness is just as a result
Of the fact that right now
"My mind's a mess, and I'm not sure why"
I probably just need your help
Because I can't seem to fight this feeling
This feeling of... emptiness.
